It's enough to make you jump out a window rather than feel your skin blister away from your body or to choke on the superheated air and ash that burns the tissue in your lungs. The survival instinct is to get away, a fall is only death in theory compared to the certain death of an inferno I wasn't there but I can believe that a mother would believe that dropping a child to be the best thing.
