And it's not even fucking Christmas

Ho-ly fucking shit. Is this guy for real?

WASHINGTON - Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was having an extramarital affair even as he led the charge against President Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky affair, he acknowledged in an interview with a conservative Christian group.
”The honest answer is yes,” Gingrich, a potential 2008 Republican presidential candidate, said in an interview with Focus on the Family founder James Dobson to be aired Friday, according to a transcript provided to The Associated Press. ”There are times that I have fallen short of my own standards. There’s certainly times when I’ve fallen short of God’s standards.”

I love how he characterizes infidelity as a “standard” he’s “fallen short of.” It’s a characterization I doubt he would have extended to Clinton.

Gingrich argued in the interview, however, that he should not be viewed as a hypocrite for pursuing Clinton’s infidelity.

I can’t wait.

”The president of the United States got in trouble for committing a felony in front of a sitting federal judge,” the former Georgia congressman said of Clinton’s 1998 House impeachment on perjury and obstruction of justice charges.
Gingrich here conveniently forgets about all the hypocritical harping he did on “family values” and Clinton’s infidelity PRIOR to the question of whether Clinton committed perjury.

”I drew a line in my mind that said, ’Even though I run the risk of being deeply
embarrassed, and even though at a purely personal level I am not rendering judgment on another human being, as a leader of the government trying to uphold the rule of law, I have no choice except to move forward and say that you cannot accept ... perjury in your highest officials.”

See how dedicated he is? He risked deep embarrassment in order to drive home the point that there is a difference between lying to your wife, your constituents, your colleagues, the press, and the nation, and lying to a prosecutor.

Also, apparently perjury in the lowest officials - not such a big deal.

You know what? I hope he does run for president. Because I would love to see the “gotcha” press interview his first wife, the one he served with divorce papers in the hospital while she was recovering from cancer. Oh, she’s also the one who had to be supported by the charity of their church, since Newt apparently refused to pay alimony or child support. Or his second wife, the one he cheated on his first wife with, or his third wife, the one who’s the former congressional aide, as in, she was a subordinate to Newt before he left Congress.

I mean, presidents have been investigated for less.

Hypocrisy.

It must take a hell of a lot of practice to find flaw and fault in others when one is living in a glass house - and do it with a straight face.

The scariest concern is that Newt, in his heart of hearts, truly believes his own bull shit. I think he believes that his moralistic side has no control over his animalistic lustful side but he remains moral. Maybe Giulianni has the same problem. They deserve greatness and an adversary in the form of a partner, just brings their egos crashing down.

The beauty of Newt, the Littlest Hitler, is that he gives people enough of what they need that they'll willing to apolgize for him. They're able to look past his authoritarian manner and bullying as some minor flaw.

I met Newt once back in 2000 at a customer site in Silicon Valley. He' short mean fat kid, can't look anyone in the eye unless he knows their weaknesses and how to exploit them.

Seriously, he's a total pussy and he knows it. He didn't serve his wife divorce papers in the hospital because he's just that callous, although he might be. He did it because deep down he's absolutely scared of everyone.

You just can't shame people who are shameless.

All: My favorite part of this whole thing is how he characterizes his stance on Clinton's impeachment as brave, because he risked exposure and embarrassment to make that stand.

I suppose Clinton could argue that telling the nation that he did not have sex with Lewinsky was brave, because he risked being deeply embarrassed in order to assure Americans of his fidelity to his wife.

But the Daily Show pointed out the most stunning aspect of this whole deal is that there have been at least 3 women who have been willing to have sex with Newt.

Oh please oh please oh please let him be the Republican nominee. I would love nothing better.
