You suck

Okay, Edwards is out.

I don’t regret my support for him. I don’t regret my donation to his campaign. If Edwards’s presence in the campaign and in the debates pushed the national dialogue (for Democrats, that is, for all I can tell the Republicans are still arguing about the size of their wieners) toward the issue of poverty, and how our government is essentially owned by corporations, then it was money well spent, and support well deserved.

I am still mulling over my vote for next Tuesday. As I’ve said before, I’m a muller. Maybe some of my readers only see me as someone who is, um, a tad opinionated, but you don’t grow up a Democrat in Indiana without acquiring an ability to maybe not appreciate, but at least see, different points of view.

In other words, what y’all see is the end result, which I freely admit can be a bit forcefully stated, and not the process, which is usually a pretty slow train coming.

Spooney can attest to this, as he must suffer through my general daily preoccupation, and my frequent inability to be decisive in what most people would consider a normal time frame.

For example, on any given Saturday, after hitting the farmer’s market, we generally stop somewhere for breakfast. So there is a discussion in the car that goes something like this.

Spooney: Where do you want to go for breakfast?

Me: I don’t know. Where do you want to go?

Spooney: We could go to Frank’s. Or the Tally Rand.

Me: (thinking) Hm.

10 minutes go by.

Me: So are you going to turn here for Frank’s?

Spooney: I didn’t know we were going to Frank’s.

Me: You asked me to decide.

Spooney: Yes, AND YOU NEVER ANSWERED ME.

See? I take so long to decide that I forget that part of making a decision is communicating that decision to the interested parties.

So readers, I’m a bit crazed at work right now, but believe me, I really am mulling over a number of things, included that insanely disingenuous State of the Union, Bill Clinton’s shameful Barack Obama = Jesse Jackson volley, the struggle among Republicans in congress to portray the extension of employment benefits and food stamps as DEFINITELY HELPING THE TERRORISTS, and the recent decision by Michael “I’m different than Gonzalez, I swear!” Mukasey that, as the top law enforcement official in the US, the legality of waterboarding is really none of his beeswax.

So, I don’t know, stay tuned, I guess.

I always liked The Griddle on Sunset, but it is a bit of a hike over the hill.

With Edwards out, I'm thinking the Natural Law Party finally has the opportunity it's been waiting for.

My 2 cents:

I was originally gonna support Hillary, just because it would piss off the people I despise.

If McCain is the nominee, I really believe Obama has a better shot at winning.
And right now, it's looking like McCain, so......

And I'm disappointed in the Clinton's behavior as of late.

Chris: I don't know about the NLB, but I'm pretty sure the Scientologists are on the verge of a bloodless coup.

Randy: Ah yes, nothing inspires a voter quite so much as the lesser of two evils.

I am having a lot of trouble trying to figure out who will be better in office after they have said all the bullshit they seem to be required to say in the race just to get elected.

I think that was Edwards problem, he refused to play the game and actually spoke his mind.

I'm a little disappointed he dropped out, but I like the sound of Attorney General John Edwards, too.

SkyDad: Well, I'm not sure I would go so far as to say that Edwards's positions weren't calculated. He's still a politician. But he think he correctly identified the problems, and that's huge.

Kirby: So far, no endorsement. Does that mean he's not trading delegates for a position in the candidate's administration? We shall see.

Oh man, Kirby's comment has me TOTALLY pumped! That would be awesome: AG Edwards. So much for waterboarding, hiring lawyers for their politics, and all the other Ashcroft/Gonza crimes.

I definitely feel a little adrift without Edwards in the race, but I can't shake the feeling that Obama is nothing more than an inspiring speaker with a pretty face but no substance. I'll back Clinton.

AG Edwards...Isn't that an investment firm?

I'd like to think that's exactly what it means. It's the polar opposite of Rudy doing everything but suck McCain's balls the day he dropped out of the race.

Yeah just as I thought I would contribute to Edwards because he needed it now, he dropped out. But I think it was a wise decision.
Hillary must define what Bill will be doing in clear language. How is she going to keep the big dog on the porch? It is a problem that must be answered and McCain will exploit it.
Barack vision is just what the country needs IMO. He wants to bring the country together and that is what I want. Civiality and reasoned discourse to solve our problems are what we need.

I am going to take my chances with Obama because I think he has the best chance to beat McCain and he will try to unite us again.
