Northern California boy, raised. I would like to say "born and raised." Alas, all government evidence suggests I was born in -- like a shiv in my heart! -- Arcadia, CA, the easternmost part of Los Angeles County. Right across the street from Santa Anita racetrack.
I'll never forget going to see "The Natural" and realizing with stunned amazement that it was the same Randy Newman who wrote and conducted that movie's beautiful score.
