Still President Bush spoke to WH reporters today during a photo op with Filipino President Gloria Macapagal, who was in the US to speak to Bush about aid for her typhoon-ravaged country. This is what what transpired:
PRESIDENT BUSH: First, I want to tell you how proud I am to be the President of a nation that -- in which there's a lot of Philippine-Americans. They love America and they love their heritage. And I reminded the President that I am reminded of the great talent of the -- of our Philippine-Americans when I eat dinner at the White House. (Laughter.)Yeah, the worst part is that she thanks him.PRESIDENT ARROYO: Yes.
PRESIDENT BUSH: And the chef is a great person and a really good cook, by the way, Madam President.

The man no couth! I wish I was really proud to be an American. Only 209 days left to go.
Somehow, I doubt it was sincere thanks. I'm thinking it was more like one of those moments where someone says something totally inappropriate, and you're so stunned that all you can say is "ha ha thank you."
OK, we can take the Philippines off the list of places where people don't know there's a dumbass in the White House.
Perhaps she was doing what I do, which is saying "Fuck you very much" so fast that it sounds like "thank you very much."
We can always hope.
You're doin' a heck of a job Filipinnie!
(and Vikki-ie!)
In the old days, if there was a simpleton in the family, they would just lock them up in an attic room and never mention them again.
This isn't a real transcript, now is it?
