So I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you

The Republicans want Clinton to be the nominee.

They want it bad.

They’ve even sent Karl Rove, Fox News commentator and advisor to the McCain campaign, out on tv to talk about his jacked-up maps of the U.S. that supposedly show that Clinton would beat McCain, but Obama would not. Check them out, they’re sort of unintentionally hilarious:

So, for one thing, against Obama, McCain would win Wisconsin, but Nebraska’s too close to call??? Is he seriously saying that Obama has a better chance of winning Nebraska in the general, than Wisconsin?

Have they ever BEEN to Nebraska? There really aren’t any black people there. And they kinda like it that way. Wisconsin, on the other hand, has gone Dem in the last 5 presidential elections.

Also, this map shows Clinton beating McCain in Arkansas. Look, Rove, we all know that Arkansas’s education system is pretty bad. In fact, it’s almost as bad as Arizona’s, but nobody in Arkansas is dumb enough to think that Hillary Clinton is from Arkansas.

But the larger point here is, why do the Republicans want Clinton to win?

Is it because she can’t do this?

That’s 75 THOUSAND people, people. At a political rally. For Obama.

And it scares the shit out of them.

I know the "horse race" is what keeps the ratings up on teevee and radio, but I almost can't believe the pundits are still trying to act as if there is some doubt about who will be the Democratic nominee, or the next president.

Also, it's beneath you to diss Rove. It's like making fun of a quadriplegic.

I'm with you on that sis - only a great fool would reach for what he is given... unless we're talking about Australia, which is entirely peopled with criminals.

You know what scares me about Obama?

They also came out for John Kerry:

I think he can win though. I just have the Kerry fear about him.

I just think what hasn't been spoken is that the voting democrats want BOTH Hillary and Barack. It's obvious. But I have a feeling he's going to choose some schmoe to run with him that will end up quitting just like Kerry and Edwards. Hillary, as witnessed, doesn't quit or give up. I don't have fear of her stepping aside as the Republicans take over the Oval Office once again - she won't pull a Gore and she definitely wouldn't concede without every single vote being counted.

It's pretty hard to spin pictures like that.

I suppose they could say that those 75,000 people were just McCain supporters scouting out the competition.

Larry: Whoever said that making fun of quadriplegics is beneath me?

Kristi: Inconceivable!

Zoe: I don't think anyone doubts the tenacity of Clinton. I just don't think you can base a successful campaign for president on it.

Some Guy: More likely they were lost McCain supporters. Oh, that's terrible. I shouldn't make fun of dementia in senior citizens, which is a growing problem.

The last photo was actually 75,000 lost McCain supporters out looking for a cafeteria that had an early bird special.

I've started having fears that we're about to see a replay of McGovern or Dukakis. I need to get out more maybe.

Hey, watch that Arizona bashing, missy! :-)

Oh, go ahead. I've become a little disgusted lately, and I live where the schools are "excelling". Ha. Sad when your kids have superior leadership skills to the 'leaders'. sigh.

And if McCain becomes president I'll have to start some sort of commune or something. Talk about fear.

You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is "never get involved in a land war in Asia," but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!

75,000 people sure, but how many of them were there for Obama and how many were there for the free The Decemberists concert? (There really was a free concert first)
