Reading a quote from him is just plain scary. To his last remark I say - "We're not worried about you Georgie, it's *us* we are worried about." And for God's sake, wouldn't you think the "Commander in Chief" would know that it should be "Laura and I", not "me and Laura"? How much longer now?
Aw, shit! I have always screwed that one up! However, I think he put 'me' in front of "Laura".... which was wrong, right? (but still mighty nice of you to step up for him)
I tried to go back and double check myself... but I couldn't find it. You see there.... all those brain cells gone with childbirth again... shit.
AB: I was taught that the trick is to take away the "and Laura" and to use the form that is appropriate to that sentence. So if correct to say "I will go," then correct to say "Laura and I will go." If correct say "wait for me," then correct to say "wait for Laura and me."
Obviously putting the other person's name before yours is courtesy, but we know our president doesn't speak well off the cuff.

when i read that quote, all i can think of is a priest (or other church figure) fondling a young boy
I'm sorry, anon. blogger, but I gotta defend the president on this one. It is correct to say "Laura and me," or "me and Laura," but not "Laura and I."
Kiki: Somehow, that doesn't surprise me.

Excellent. Very helpful. I will no longer have to cross my fingers and hope I did it right. Thanks!
