5 things you'd rather not know about me

#1 - I was voted Miss Big Hair of 1986

#2 - I like to dress up as 70s TV icons in my spare time.

#3 - My friends once set me up on a blind date with a Gorn.

#4 - For a while there, I thought I was Carrie Bradshaw.

#5 - My career as a paleontologist never really took off.

(you can blame Grant Miller for this one)

Did you manage to collect enough minerals and a wooden tube to make gunpowder and a cannon to fend off his advances at the end of the evening?

Okay, Vikki, I had to literally look at that first picture three times before I was finally certain that it wasn't actually Debra Winger circa 1983.

SkyDad: Actually, I just drank him under the table. Turns out Gorns can't hold their Fuzzy Navels.

JohnnyY: Have you ever seen The Big Picture, a really awesome Christopher Guest movie starring Kevin Bacon? In it, Teri Hatcher has comically giant 80s hair, but what kills me is that it is only just a teeny tiny bit bigger than my hair here.

Years ago, SNL did a skit in which small-town cops stopped cars and measured hair width to ensure the occupants met town standards. Congratulations, you made the cut!

What I wouldn't pay to see Gorn in the big hair.

That first picture is awesome. If you don't use it in your profile, I may have to steal it and claim it as my own.

The Big Hair shot is - how you say? - never not funny.

I liked the Carrie Bradshaw era the best.

This is brilliant! That 1986 hair was so big, I think I shared it!

SV: I think my width was good, but my bangs were never quite crispy enough.

MonJoe: Well, it looks like www.bighairgorns.com is available...

OfficialG: Oh, no you don't. I don't want to face the kind of scorn and ridicule that Dr. Miller has been subjected to since you absconded with his image.

Lisa: It's a cheap ploy, it's true. And yet you see how well it works.

Kristi: Oh, was it the SKINNINESS that you liked? It couldn't have been the "scarf as top" aspect of it that was appealing.

BlueB: Oh, was that you? You could've washed your bit a little more often, you know.

A GORN! My god, I know what a GORN is. I have failed the non-geek test. (mainly because I'm jealous of your date with a Gorn)

vikkitikkitavi said...

Take it easy, SJ. No non-geek tests being administered here. Who would pass?

Should I feel good that I have no idea what a Gorn is? Or do I lose my sci-fi card?

You have a sci-fi card?! Is it collectable? Is it still in the box, or did you take it out?
