No, not Kate Hudson. And certainly not Uggs.
What I love is Trendzilla, a regular feature in the OC Weekly.
Those of you out there who bought Uggs - I forgive you, by the way - you need to read this week's Trendzilla.
Those of you still wearing them - you need to stop. I don't care if it's winter. Please, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD read this week's Trendzilla.

Can I wear Kate Hudson?
I searched for an article on Crocs and couldn't find any. Oh well, it wouldn't stop people in Colorado from wearing them anyway.
Shit.
Oh yeah, she can definitely leave the boots on.
MJoe: Gross.
Kristi: I think she's assuming a level above Croc-wearing.
SkyDad: Gross.
i'm not sure that girl has the best legs I'VE ever seen.
but those boots are nasty.
i don't like the leggings and big weird heather-grey and pink striped 1980s clothes that are back either (with little ballet flats). the cool kids wore that when i was like 7 years old. it's hard to still think of it as cool.
plus the weird drapey dorothy szbornak look just doesn't work for me.
no. i recant that last comment.
you know what happens to me when i see uggs?
i immediately turn into kathleen turner in serial mom when she freaks out over the white shoes after labor day.
My 12 & 14 year olds were thrilled to get those boots on a September day when it was well over 100 degrees here on the desert.... but at their ages they seem to be able to pull off any look. sigh.
Then I remember some of the looks that have come and gone... sizzler dresses, Annie Hall, quianna blouses with silk ties, 'exercise' sandals, white plastic go-go boots...
I'm reminded of sheep.... follow, follow, follow.
Just had to add this - guess where I just saw two pairs of those boots? On swimmers at a high school swim meet!
Skyler is a manager for the swim team at his high school, so we go to a lot of meets, and see more than our share of Crocs...
But this was flat weird, Crocs I can almost understand at a pool. But these boots are just not practical in any way...
kbryna: yeah, definitely bumming about the 80s influence on recent fashion. The 70s - so much more cool. I will suffer the skinny ties and lapels, but no leggings for this gal. I can't hide there.
Zoe: Oh yeah, there's nothing worse than someone wearing an already useless and ugly trend about 3 years too late.
AnonBlog: I think you should sit your children down and tell them that their Aunt Vikkitikkitavi in Los Angeles says that they really shouldn't wear the Uggs. And give them the Trendzilla website address so they can keep up on those things in the future.
SkyDad: Yes, yes, athletes think that they have license to buck trends and common sense because they supposedly have some kind of athletic-based NEED to wear ugly clothing. Example: legwarmers.
O.K., Aunt Vikki, will do!
