I hope it doesn't suck

View a preview of Fast Food Nation, a drama (not a documentary) based on the expose of the same name by Eric Schlosser. The movie is directed by Richard Linklater and is premiering at Cannes.

I read the book, and let me tell you there is some scary-ass shit in there.

The rumor is that Linklater was able to film on location in various fast food restaurants by calling the film project something other than Fast Food Nation.

I read the book after some of my carnivore friends recommended it. How can you read that and remain a meat eater????

Denial. Ya gotta be in denial.

Some of my colleagues were teasing me about buying a 10-year-old car to replace my burned-up car. Them: "I can't believe you didn't get a hybrid." Me: "I can't afford a new car." Them: "It would be a sacrifice, sure..."

Then I said "If you're so concerned about fuel consumption, why don't you give up meat? Do you know how much energy it takes to produce a pound of beef versus a pound of grain or vegetables?"

That shut them up.
