You want a conspiracy theory?


Now, here's a conspiracy theory. And it's all true, what they did. The only fact that has never been established is to what extent it was a conspiracy.

When Kerry was drawing 80,000 people to downtown Madison, WI a few days before the election, he recalled a friend telling him,"The Red Sox have a better chance of winning the World Series than you have of being elected president." Well, the Red Sox won that year, and so did Kerry.

I think it was in "On the Trail of the Assassins" that Jim Garrison characterized the cynicism of Americans as directly traceable to the JFK assassination and coverup. He called us a nation of Hamlets, who suspected that the throne of the country had been stolen, but felt isolated and unable to right the wrong that had been done.

I think about that a lot these days.
