Spooney wants the airwaves, baby

Hey parents, are you tired of listening to that Barney CD your kids have now played 28 times in a row?

How about you pick up a copy of Brats on the Beat, a kid-friendly tribute to the Ramones?

My man, Spooney, sings a track on the record. You can also hear Brett Anderson of The Donnas, Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio, and Nick Oliveri from Queens of the Stone Age.

And if you don't want to peruse their MySpace page, and just want to skip to the part where you buy the fucking thing - look! Look! It's on fucking Amazon, baby!

Go Spooney!

Anybody who can sound great singing both Ramones and Bee-Gees tunes has gotta have chops.

But does he have the pro-gear and the transportation?

That sounds like it would be a great Xmas present... to sisters in particular.

Randy: 'Zackly.

Jess: Is that a musician joke?

Kristi: Or to a nephew.

Kiki: Here's me reading the liner notes from this album: "Blah blah blah The Donnas blah blah blah some dumb-ass punk band I don't care about blah blah Spooney blah blah blah another stupid punk band that hasn't figured out that punk is dead blah blah blah..."

Sort of. When looking for a musician or band in the classifieds, one usually comes across the following (either all of them or just some):
Looking for someone with/I've got the chops, the look, the pro-gear, the experience, the transportation, the pro-attitude.

(I'm pretty sure there are more, but can't think of any)

This is usually followed by "No egos!" and sometimes "No drugs!"

The "pro-gear"?? Seriously?

I can't stop smirking.

Hee hee, I KNOW! Go into Google and type "pro-gear, chops" (not in quotes). There's your proof right there.

If I may quote from the third response down (in Google):
"Pro gear, pro chops and pro attitude a must"

Personally, I'd like to see "pro transportation".
